Advanced Practice Provider (PA/NP) Urology - NC Raleigh Join our Urology team at Rex/UNC Hospital and Rex/UNC Holly Springs Hospital to deliver comprehensive urologic care. The APP will work alongside a growing team of four Surgeons and two APPs to provide patient‑centered care. Focus areas: inpatient clinical care and management, outpatient clinic management, and operating room coverage as needed. The APP works Monday through Friday with one night call per week and one weekend per month. Summary An Advanced Practice Provider functions as part of the interdisciplinary healthcare team, providing high‑quality, cost‑effective care within the scope of practice in collaboration with a supervising physician. Responsibilities Clinical Obtain relevant history, perform thorough physical assessment, review and interpret diagnostic tests. Develop differential diagnoses and implement evidence‑based treatment plans. Prescribe and order appropriate pharmacologic agents, schedule follow‑up care. Conduct preventive health screenings and maintain clear, comprehensive patient records. Maintain knowledge of general disease processes and specialty literature. Revise plans of care and prioritize workflow to optimize patient flow and productivity. Perform medical procedures consistent with departmental guidelines and privileging. Education Educate clients/families about medical conditions, treatment, and follow‑up. Develop educational materials for clinicians, staff, and students. Provide instruction to physicians, housestaff, nursing, ancillaries, and students. Engage in continuous learning and attend education programs as needed. Leadership Provide instruction through precepting, lectures, training classes, and staff meetings. Participate in community outreach and develop outreach programs. Apply system knowledge to improve health care delivery and lead improvement projects. Professional Communicate respectfully and timely with patients, families, and team members. Respond quickly to customer needs and resolve problems. Accept responsibility for outcomes and share workload with the team. Quality / Research Engage in continuous quality improvement and implement improvement processes. Consult management on clinical, system issues, and care models. Lead interdisciplinary teams for integrated patient care. Revise protocols or guidelines to reflect evidence‑based changes. Develop new clinical programs to improve patient care. Qualifications Education: Completion of an accredited graduate‑level Advanced Practice Provider (APRN or PA) program. Licensure / Certification: Licensed as an Advanced Practice Provider (NP, PA, Clinical Pharmacist Practitioner, Certified Nurse Midwife, CRNA) in North Carolina. Board certification: If required by the Department. DEA registration required. Experience: No prior experience required. Knowledge / Skills / Abilities: Demonstrated clinical competency, effective leadership and interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and collaboratively, strong written and verbal communication, analytical skills, competency in documentation for accurate billing.
