Role Overview The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) provides treatment, exercise instruction, and patient education to enhance patient well-being, following a treatment plan set by a supervising Physical Therapist. Key responsibilities include adhering to state laws, assisting patients with active and passive exercises, gait, ADLs, transfers, and safety training. The PTA observes and reports patient responses and coordinates care with healthcare team members. They also educate patients, families, and caregivers within their scope of practice.
