Customer Service Representative

This position is with the Olivenhain Municipal Water District and is located at the Main Office in Encinitas, CA. The salary range is $59,363.20 - $82,971.20 annually. The job type is full-time and is within the Customer Services department under the Customer Service & Public Affairs division. The position is non-exempt.

The detailed duties and responsibilities include:

• Performs general administrative support tasks such as answering calls, processing payments, managing mail, maintaining office supplies, preparing forms and documents, managing files, attending training, preparing reports, proposing policy updates, and representing the District professionally.
• Directly interacts with customers to assist with questions and issues regarding District services, troubleshoots issues, coordinates with other personnel, notifies customers of service interruptions, updates billing information, transfers balances, and assists with the District Agricultural Program.
• Performs billing activities including preparing bills, sending electronic files, reviewing billing reports, monitoring past due accounts, arranging payment schedules, resolving meter issues, and processing refunds.

Non-essential functions include performing all related duties as assigned.

Minimum qualification requirements include:

• Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: One year of experience for Customer Service Representative I and three years for Customer Service Representative II, with excellent communication skills, ability to manage priorities, and proficiency in computer applications.

Supplemental information includes:

• Internal contact with supervisor, District personnel, and external contacts with customers and other agencies.
• Physical requirements include good hearing, eyesight, and speech, ability to operate a computer, and occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Environmental conditions include working in an office setting with exposure to standard office noise and conditions, and occasional exposure to variable weather and equipment when working outside.
