About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Behavioral Health Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years required. License: Valid nursing license required. Certifications: BLS, MOAB preferred. Must-Have: Traveler experience required; unit will accept first-time travelers. Description: RTO after booking is not allowed and is not permitted to be worked out onsite. Any call-offs or additional RTO on the unit could possibly lead to a cancellation. DNR is required. The target patient ratios are 1:7. 36-48 hours can be offered. Floating may be required to task in other units when needed. Every other weekend is required. Adults and geriatric patients with all mental health diagnoses will be cared for. The behavioral health unit is split between two floors. Team members rotate between the two floors and must work in every area of acuity. Psych techs are present, who check vital signs and perform other duties. Their main role is milieu management and patient monitoring. Lead psych techs assist with de-escalation. A nurse manager, assistant nurse manager, or house supervisor is onsite. Virtual clinical nursing support is available 24/7. A therapy team conducts groups seven days per week. We use monitoring tools and personal safety devices to improve patient outcomes. The unit utilizes a specific charting system for documentation and communication. Candidates must be willing to float within or near the facility as required by the job description.
