Cardiac Monitor Technician - Central Monitoring Unit - Santa Monica

Description As a Cardiac Monitor (EKG) Technician in the Central Monitoring Unit at UCLA Health, you will play a vital role in supporting patient safety and clinical care. From the Central Monitor Station, you will provide continuous observation of patients' cardiac rhythms and other critical vital signs, serving as a key partner to the care team. In this role, you will: Monitor 5-lead EKG, pulse oximetry, respiratory rate, and end-tidal CO. Recognize and interpret arrhythmias, ST-segment changes, and QT prolongation. Respond promptly to actionable alarms and communicate findings to nurses and physicians. Document patient activity, hand-off reports, and census reconciliation. Ensure equipment functionality and elevate issues appropriately.
