Data Engineer – ETL, Big Data & Cloud

Location: Houston, TX

Duration: 6-12 months

Design and develop scalable data pipelines for data ingestion and processing

Work with structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data sources

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements

Build and maintain ETL workflows for data transformation

Participate in Agile ceremonies and sprint planning

Develop data models aligned with business needs

Ensure data quality, consistency, and reliability across systems

Work with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure for data solutions

Implement big data processing using Spark or similar technologies

Support deployment and migration of data solutions across environments

Contribute to data governance and compliance initiatives

Monitor and optimize data pipeline performance

Prepare and maintain solution design and architecture documentation

Analyze data sources and design efficient data pipeline solutions

Develop ETL processes using modern tools and frameworks

Design database structures and data models for scalability

Handle data from multiple formats including streaming data

Address data governance, security, and compliance requirements

Define integrated enterprise-wide data views

Support data migration across Development, QA, and Production

Troubleshoot ETL jobs and resolve data-related issues

Validate data accuracy and integrity using SQL queries

Create test data and perform data validation checks

Follow best practices for configuration and release management

Strong experience in ETL development and data pipeline design

Proficiency in Python, SQL, and Spark

Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure

Knowledge of big data technologies and frameworks

Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts

Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases

Knowledge of data modeling techniques

Understanding of structured and unstructured data processing

Familiarity with Airflow or similar workflow orchestration tools

Knowledge of data governance and security practices

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Ability to work in Agile environments

4-6 years or above
