Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, Pediatrics (Per Diem)

Job Description As a Neighborhood Advanced Practice Practitioner you will be part of a Care Team focused on providing the very best patient experience. Direct Patient Care Examines patients, performs comprehensive physical examinations, and compiles patient medical data, including health history and results of physical examinations. Administers or orders diagnostic tests such as X‑ray, electrocardiogram, and laboratory tests, and interprets test results including deviations from normal. Performs therapeutic procedures such as injections, immunizations, suturing, wound care, and infection management. Instructs and counsels patients regarding compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimens, normal growth and development, family planning, emotional problems of daily living, and health maintenance. Positively impacts patient experience by demonstrating values of Transforming Care, including courtesy, helpful behavior, and a commitment to accuracy. Displays knowledge of normal signs of human development and assesses and provides age‑appropriate care. Clinical Administration Develops and implements patient management plans, records progress notes, and assists in the provision of continuity of care. Performs all of the above in accordance with NHC practice protocols and under the guidance and supervision of the supervising MD(s), according to the terms of the Supervisory Agreement. Stays informed of organizational activities and promotes mission and goals, functioning at the highest level according to credentials and competency. Requirements Education: Master’s Degree required. Licenses/Certifications: Must possess a current unrestricted license to practice in the State of California, along with a furnishing permit for FNP candidates. DEA license. BLS certification. Experience/Specialized Skills: Bilingual (English/Spanish) capabilities strongly preferred but not required. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and concepts of disease. Knowledge of patient care activities, clinic environment, and how services and functions interact. Ability to take a detailed medical history, conduct a physical examination, follow observation procedures, order and perform diagnostic and therapeutic tasks, and exercise judgment in integrating and interpreting findings. Ability to work effectively with patients from diverse social, cultural, and economic groups. Pay range: $147k to $199k per year, depending on experience (DOE). Neighborhood Healthcare requires employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID‑19 and to demonstrate proof of vaccination upon hire or receive approval for an exemption based on a medical reason, disability, or religious belief.
