In-Focus Systems is looking for an experienced Commercial Low Voltage / AV Technician to join our growing Commercial team.

We're looking for someone with a strong foundation in low-voltage systems who takes pride in quality work, understands the construction environment, and can work effectively both independently and as part of a project team.

Commercial AV experience is preferred, but it isn't the only background we're interested in. If you have experience with low-voltage cabling, security systems, access control, surveillance, networking, audio/video, or other building technology systems , we'd like to talk to you.

What You'll Do

You'll work on commercial technology projects throughout the Twin Cities, including:

• Installing and terminating low-voltage cabling and infrastructure
• Installing and connecting commercial audio/video equipment
• Installing security, surveillance, and access-control systems
• Installing network equipment and related infrastructure
• Mounting displays, speakers, cameras, racks, equipment, and other system components
• Building and dressing equipment racks
• Reading plans, drawings, schematics, and project documentation
• Testing, troubleshooting, and verifying system operation
• Coordinating with Project Managers, other IFS technicians, general contractors, electricians, and other trades
• Maintaining clean, organized, and professional jobsites
• Documenting completed work and communicating project issues or changes
• Helping ensure projects are completed correctly, efficiently, and to In-Focus Systems' quality standards

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who:

• Has previous experience with commercial low-voltage, AV, security, access control, surveillance, structured cabling, networking, or related systems
• Understands basic low-voltage installation practices and construction-jobsite expectations
• Can terminate and test common low-voltage cabling
• Is comfortable using hand and power tools
• Can read and follow plans, drawings, and system documentation
• Has strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Communicates clearly with Project Managers, coworkers, customers, and other trades
• Takes ownership of their work and pays attention to details
• Can work independently when needed while also being a strong teammate
• Is dependable and understands the importance of showing up prepared and completing work correctly

Experience with commercial AV and integrated technology systems is highly valued, but we don't expect every candidate to know every system we install.

We're interested in technicians with strong fundamentals, a willingness to learn, and the ability to grow into increasingly complex commercial technology projects.
