Description
- Conduct comprehensive assessments across pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics utilizing both standardized testing and observational measures.
- Create individualized therapeutic plans that address both immediate communication challenges and long-term goals for cognitive or swallowing improvement.
- Deliver focused speech therapy sessions that emphasize communication, language enhancement, fluency, vocal exercises, and swallowing techniques.
- Collaborate seamlessly with an interdisciplinary team of physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to devise holistic care approaches.
- Provide education to patients and family members to facilitate progress beyond therapy sessions.
- Participate in occasional inpatient evaluations and therapeutic interventions, ensuring a smooth continuum of care throughout the patient journey.
- Document clinical findings and progress accurately, adhering to state, federal, and institutional policies.
- Keep abreast of industry advancements through ongoing education and teamwork with peers.
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- If you are not yet ASHA-certified, completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) is required.
- Current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification should be obtained within the first 30 days of employment.
- Expertise in evidence-based therapeutic techniques applicable across all age groups with a strong foundation in both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
- Exceptional communication skills engaging effectively with patients, their families, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Capability to modify therapeutic approaches to respect cultural and linguistic diversity.
- Strong clinical reasoning and creative problem-solving capabilities.
- Proficient with electronic medical records and documentation standards.
