Senior Product Owner - AI Platform Transformation | Insurance (Remote)


We are partnering with a leading life insurance organization undergoing a major transformation to redefine how AI is embedded across core operations.


They are seeking a Senior Product Owner to take ownership of a flagship AI-enabled platform spanning underwriting, intake, claims, policy administration, and broker engagement.


This is a fully remote role (1-2 year engagement) with strong potential for further extension.


The Opportunity


The business is building a greenfield AI-enabled platform from scratch, not enhancing legacy systems, but designing how AI should fundamentally drive workflow, decision-making, and operational efficiency.


This is a high-visibility role focused on structured delivery, strong governance, and disciplined execution across a complex enterprise environment.


This is a rare opportunity to shape a next-generation AI platform from inception. The business is not simply deploying AI features, it is fundamentally rethinking how workflows operate in an AI-enabled environment and building a market-leading solution from first principles.


Key Responsibilities

• Own and manage the product backlog for a greenfield AI platform
• Translate business needs into epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria
• Prioritise competing business and engineering demands
• Work closely with engineering to ensure clear delivery alignment
• Support the design and rollout of AI-enabled workflows across core insurance processes
• Help transition delivery from vendor-led to an internally owned capability
• Embed strong product governance and delivery discipline

What We're Looking For

• Strong Product Owner experience in complex enterprise environments
• Experience with platform products (not just standalone applications)
• Exposure to AI-enabled products, workflow automation, or decision-support tools
• Excellent backlog management and story-writing skills
• Strong stakeholder management in high-complexity environments
• Hands-on, delivery-focused mindset
• Insurance experience is a plus (not essential)
