Registered Nurse - Emergency RoomThis position is for an emergency room setting with a total of 24+ beds. Registered nurses are expected to manage patient ratios of 1 to 4. The electronic medical record system used is Cerner FirstNet. A charge nurse is present on duty. Patient care technicians are available for assistance. Weekend shifts are required every other weekend. Nurses will work holidays as part of the permanent staff rotation. Scrub color required is navy. Telemetry is managed with Phillips equipment. Ventilator support is available. A hospitalist or intensivist is on-site 24/7. Respiratory therapy is available around the clock. Pharmacy services are available in the emergency room during the day. Shift times vary: Days - 7a, 8a, 9a; Mids - 10a, 11a, 1p, 3p; Nights - 4p, 5p, 7p. Floating to other units is not required. Floor-specific orientation includes two shifts. The emergency room sees an average of 150 patients per day. Common diagnoses include acute and emergent cases involving both adults and pediatric patients. Patients requiring a higher level of care are transported to a designated facility. Psychiatric holds are managed for a limited duration. Candidates must be ready to engage in a fast-paced environment. This position serves a diverse patient population, including a significant number of individuals experiencing homelessness. The facility reserves the right to cancel up to four shifts during the assignment. Charting is performed utilizing a specific electronic medical record system. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing is not required for this position. Trauma Level: Care Setting: Acute Division: Nursing Shifts are primarily 12 hours with varying start times.
