Master’s degree or higher from an accredited school of Nursing and graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioners programEXPERIENCE
Two years of registered nurse, advanced practice or nurse practitioner clinical experience LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS (Required) RN – Registered Nurse – Texas State Licensure – Texas Board of Nursing – Must obtain permanent Texas license within 60 days (if establishing Texas residency) APRN Acute Care state license Magnet ANCC‑recognized Acute‑Care practitioner certification BLS – Basic Life Support or Instructor (AHA) ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support or Instructor (AHA) AP – Prescriptive Authority – Texas Board of Nursing – Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation DEA – Narcotics License (DEA) – within 6 monthsKNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES

Acts as a clinical resource, interprofessional consultant and patient advocate; identifies staff development opportunities and provides coaching Communicates organizational information and administrative/clinical practice with staff respectfully and positively; promotes a balanced workload and teamwork Collaborates with the interprofessional healthcare team to coordinate patient care and resolves clinical and ethical concerns for patients and families Serves as a preceptor for Nurse Practitioner students and medical residents, when applicable; uses peer‑to‑peer accountability to improve department engagement scoresSERVICE
Coordinates timely patient care under physician supervision for defined patient populations, focusing on unit/optimal outcomes, individualized to the patient Coordinates patient care between healthcare providers and participates in interprofessional rounds as appropriate Helps improve patient satisfaction scores through peer‑to‑peer accountability to service standardsQUALITY/SAFETY
Functions as a quality care provider, coordinating and promoting patient health; assists the team in developing and implementing protocols to ensure patient safety Conducts health assessments, identifies normal/abnormal characteristics, develops plans of care, initiates interventions and evaluates outcomes Performs invasive, diagnostic or therapeutic procedures necessary for defined patient populations based on licensure and credentialed privileges Leads and initiates outcome, quality and safety improvement activities aligned with organizational goals; contributes to professional practice standards and policiesFINANCE
Implements department strategies to achieve financial targets and mentors others through timely documentation, reduced length of stay and optimized efficiency Projects awareness of resource allocation based on patient needs and staff experience, knowledge and skillsGROWTH/INNOVATION
Promotes quality health care through integration of current research into practice and participation in evidence‑based activities Identifies opportunities for practice changes and performance improvement; provides education in research, presentations and publications Expands individual nursing knowledge and coaches staff to grow in knowledge, abilities, skills and attitudes; serves as a clinical resource Completes and updates the My Development Plan on an ongoing basisSUPPLEMENTAL REQUIREMENTS
