$95K–$115K annually + benefits About Project FoodBox Project FoodBox is transforming healthcare through Food as Medicine , delivering medically tailored groceries and nutrition support to Medicaid members living with chronic health conditions. We're hiring a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) to provide personalized nutrition care to members enrolled in our programs and help them make meaningful, sustainable changes through nutrition. This is a hands-on, execution-focused clinical role for an RDN who is comfortable managing a consistent appointment schedule, working within standardized workflows, and balancing clinical judgment with efficiency, documentation, and member experience. What You’ll Own Nutrition Assessment & Counseling Conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments and individualized nutrition counseling appointments. Develop personalized nutrition care plans based on clinical needs, medical history, food access, dietary restrictions, and program requirements. Use strong communication and motivational interviewing skills to help members make meaningful lifestyle changes. Provide practical nutrition education tailored to each member's needs and circumstances. Clinical Documentation & Quality Accurately and efficiently document assessments, care plans, member interactions, and follow-up activities. Complete documentation within established timelines and clinical/program standards. Support clinical documentation reviews, quality improvement initiatives, and program compliance. Maintain a high standard of clinical quality while managing a consistent appointment schedule. Member Experience & Program Performance Manage a high-volume appointment schedule while maintaining quality and member engagement. Meet established expectations for appointment completion, documentation turnaround, member engagement, and other key performance metrics. Build trust and rapport with members while delivering a consistent, high-quality experience. Identify barriers to member engagement and help develop practical solutions. Process & Program Improvement Become proficient in Project FoodBox systems and platforms and adapt quickly as workflows and technology evolve. Identify opportunities to simplify workflows, reduce redundancies, and improve how we support members. Contribute to the development and implementation of nutrition plans, member education, new nutrition offerings, and other Food as Medicine initiatives. Partner with Operations, Member Success, healthcare partners, and other internal teams to improve member outcomes and program performance. What We’re Looking For We’re looking for an RDN who combines strong clinical skills with an operational mindset . Holds an active Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential through the Commission on Holds an active New York State Certified Dietitian Nutritionist (CDN) credential or can obtain it prior to employment. Has a Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field. Has 2+ years of clinical nutrition or medical nutrition therapy experience. Has experience conducting nutrition assessments and providing individualized nutrition counseling. Has strong clinical documentation and communication skills. Is comfortable working with electronic health records or similar documentation systems. Can balance clinical judgment, efficiency, documentation, and member experience. Is organized, adaptable, and comfortable working toward clearly defined productivity and quality metrics. Can follow standardized processes while also identifying practical opportunities for improvement. Has strong interpersonal and motivational interviewing skills. Preferred Experience High-volume or performance-driven clinical environments. Medicaid populations, Food as Medicine, value-based care, or programs serving food-insecure populations. Care coordination, referral, EHR, or similar clinical workflow systems. Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred.
