Completion of an accredited Interpreter Training Program (ITP), active Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) certification, and 1+ years Interpreter experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Bring your specialized skills as a Braillist and Interpreter to a fulfilling contract opportunity supporting a dedicated student in Texas. This role centers on providing essential accessibility that empowers a full-time Braille student with the instructional materials needed to thrive.

Your expertise will enable the school to stay ahead in preparing coursework: converting vital academic documents, such as worksheets and spelling tests, into Braille and organizing them via Google Docs. The facility is equipped with a Rogue Embosser compatible with 11.5 x 11 paper, ensuring professional-quality Braille output. Your contribution will help ensure the student receives materials at least two weeks in advance, fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Qualifications:

• Proficiency in Braille transcription and production
• Experience with document conversion to Braille format
• Familiarity with Rogue Embosser technology (preferred)
• Strong organizational skills and ability to plan ahead
• Knowledge of Google Docs for material delivery and sharing
• Previous experience in educational or school settings as a Braillist or Interpreter is a plus

Key Responsibilities:
