Overview
System One is seeking an experienced Technical Systems Analyst to support the implementation and ongoing evolution of a cloud-based Enterprise Data Platform in Microsoft Azure . This role serves as the key liaison between business stakeholders and technical delivery teams, translating business objectives into actionable technical requirements and ensuring successful delivery of data-driven solutions.
The ideal candidate goes beyond requirements documentation and can effectively understand business challenges, develop technical solutions, collaborate with engineering teams, and support delivery through testing, validation, and deployment.
Work Schedule: 4 days onsite, 1 day remote
Clearance Required: Active Secret Clearance

Key Qualifications

• Active Secret Clearance
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, Engineering, Data Analytics, or a related field
• 7+ years of experience as a Technical Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, Technical Analyst, or similar role supporting enterprise IT initiatives
• Experience supporting:
  • Enterprise data platforms
  • Data modernization initiatives
  • Business intelligence and analytics solutions
  • Cloud-based data environments
• Strong experience gathering, analyzing, documenting, and validating complex business and technical requirements
• Ability to translate business needs into:
  • User stories
  • Features
  • Epics
  • Acceptance criteria
  • Functional and technical specifications
• Experience working closely with:
  • Azure Cloud Engineers
  • DevOps Engineers
  • Data Engineers
  • Software Developers
  • Data Analysts
• Strong understanding of Agile software delivery methodologies
• Experience managing product backlogs and work items using Azure DevOps or Jira
• Working knowledge of Azure data services, including:
  • Azure Data Factory (ADF)
  • Azure Synapse Analytics
  • Azure Data Lake
  • Azure SQL Database
  • Power BI
• Understanding of:
  • Cloud-based ETL/ELT pipelines
  • Data integration concepts
  • Cloud-specific data g
  • governance practices
  • Cloud consumption and cost considerations, including compute and storage
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Key Responsibilities
Requirements & Business Analysis

• Collaborate with stakeholders, product owners, and technical teams to gather, analyze, document, validate, and refine business and technical requirements.
• Translate business objectives into actionable user stories, features, epics, acceptance criteria, and technical specifications.
• Facilitate requirements workshops, backlog refinement sessions, sprint planning, and technical discussions.

Technical Partnership & Solution Delivery

• Partner with Azure Cloud Engineers, DevOps Engineers, Data Engineers, Developers, and Data Analysts throughout the solution lifecycle.
• Support implementation and enhancement of enterprise data platform capabilities, including:
  • Data ingestion
  • Data integration
  • Data transformation
  • Analytics and reporting
  • Data governance
• Support requirements related to Azure-based data solutions and cloud ETL/ELT processes.
• Track requirements through implementation and validate that delivered functionality meets business objectives.

Backlog & Project Management

• Manage and prioritize work items using Azure DevOps or Jira.
• Maintain traceability from business requirements through development, testing, and deployment.
• Identify dependencies, risks, assumptions, and constraints across initiatives.
• Prepare project documentation, status reports, executive briefings, and technical documentation.

Process Improvement & Governance

• Analyze existing business processes and identify opportunities for automation, modernization, and improved data management.
• Develop process flows, workflow diagrams, data flow diagrams, and functional documentation.
• Support cloud-specific data governance initiatives and requirements.
• Help stakeholders understand cloud consumption costs and how compute, storage, and usage patterns impact business cases and solution decisions.

Testing & Stakeholder Communication

• Coordinate with QA teams and business stakeholders during testing, UAT, and production-readiness activities.
• Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to audiences at all organizational levels, from engineers to executive stakeholders.

Ideal Candidate Profile
The successful candidate is a highly technical Business Analyst with experience supporting Azure-based enterprise data platforms and modernization initiatives . They can bridge the gap between business and technology, translate complex requirements into deliverable solutions, collaborate effectively with engineering teams, and drive requirements through the full Agile delivery lifecycle while ensuring alignment with business goals.
