Straub Tool Shop LLC is seeking a motivated and customer-focused Retail Sales & Store Merchandiser to join our team. This role focuses on assisting customers with power tools, hand tools, tool accessories, and related equipment while maintaining an organized and attractive retail environment. The ideal candidate has an interest in tools and enjoys helping customers find the right solutions for their projects.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers in selecting power tools, hand tools, tool accessories, batteries, blades, abrasives, safety equipment, and related products.
• Provide product information, recommendations, and basic demonstrations when appropriate.
• Maintain attractive and organized merchandise displays for power tools, accessories, and featured products.
• Stock shelves, replenish inventory, and ensure products are properly organized and easy to locate.
• Receive, unpack and merchandise incoming shipments.
• Monitor inventory levels and communicate low-stock items to management.
• Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system and process customer transactions accurately.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and professional sales floor and warehouse area.
• Assist with inventory counts, cycle counts, and stock management activities.
• Stay informed about new tools, accessories, and industry products to better assist customers.
• Support daily store operations and contribute to achieving sales goals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience in retail sales, merchandising, hardware, construction supply, or tool sales is preferred.
• Knowledge of power tools, tool accessories, construction equipment, or related products is highly desirable.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to learn product specifications and recommend appropriate solutions to customers.
• Ability to lift and move merchandise up to 50 pounds.
• Dependable, organized, and detail-oriented.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with brands such as Milwaukee, Makita, Eibenstock, or similar professional-grade tool manufacturers.
• Familiarity with corded and cordless tool platforms, batteries, chargers, cutting accessories, drilling accessories, and jobsite equipment.
• Understanding of contractor, industrial, or DIY customer needs.
