We are seeking a highly skilled, hands-on Structural Development Lab (SDL) & Advanced Materials Technician to support vehicle durability, development, validation, and advanced materials testing activities.

This position is ideal for an experienced automotive technician, fabrication specialist, or test lab professional who enjoys solving complex mechanical challenges , and building innovative test solutions.

Required

• Associate's degree in Mechanical Technology, Automotive Technology, Engineering Technology, or a related technical field; or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a test laboratory, automotive service environment, fabrication shop, or similar technical field.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to disassemble, diagnose, repair, and reassemble vehicle systems and components.
• Experience using shop equipment and hand tools, including drills, saws, presses, and fabrication equipment.
• Basic computer proficiency and the ability to learn new software systems and testing applications.
• Ability to read technical drawings, procedures, and work instructions.

Preferred

• Automotive dealership technician experience.
• Test laboratory experience supporting vehicle, subsystem, or component testing.
• Welding and metal fabrication experience.
• Hydraulic systems experience.

This role involves:

Vehicle and component testing

Test Lab operations

Fabrication and tooling deveopment

Collaboration and continuous improvement

Hourly rate based upon education, experience, and work history.
