Registered Nurse - PACUMammoth Lakes - Mammoth Lakes, CA 93546OverviewSalary Range $58.46 - $83.27 Hourly Position Type Full Time Job Shift VariedDescriptionThe PACU Registered Nurse initiates a plan of care based on identified medical, surgical, and nursing diagnosis which is consistent with knowledge of illnesses, injuries, diseases, human behavior and outlined standards of care. The PACU Registered Nurse will direct and coordinate with other departments and ancillary personnel to provide a safe environment and a high standard of quality care. The PACU Registered Nurse provides nursing care to preoperative and postanesthesia patients and has charge of patient safety, provision of supplies, equipment, and maintaining asepsis.What You'll Do:Assess, instruct, & prepare patients prior to surgeryEnsure that operative and informed consents are signed and correctTake and record vital statistics of patients to ensure readiness for surgical procedureInitiate IV's and ensure patients are informed about procedureAware of patient needs and able to correlate physician's orders and diagnosisPost operatively asses patients condition and correlate Anesthesiologist's orders to patient needsIdentifies interventions necessary for expected outcomes based on specific surgery, anesthesia, illness, injury or disease on specific surgery, PACU standards of careIndividualizes care plan in PACU utilizing input from patient, family, Anesthesiologist, Surgeon, and O.R. nurseDocuments patient care on clinical records on initial assessment to hospital and in the PACU according to policyConsistently presents accurate, concise reports to the O.R. nurse pre operatively and to the unit nurse post operativelyAnswer patient questions and ensure patient comfortWho You Are:Collaborative team playerAbility to work under pressureExcellent communicatorCompassionate & ReassuringAccurate documentation skillsQualifications:State of California Registered Nurse license required.American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required.Minimum of 1 year PACU experience preferred.Job Information:Starting wage $58.47 to $70.87 based on qualifications.Full-time, varied 12-hour shifts, including weekends.On-call shifts required.The foregoing description is not intended and should not be construed to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, skills and efforts or work conditions associated with the job.
