LEGAL ASSISTANT - LITIGATION

Job Summary A well-established law firm in Miami, FL is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant - Litigation to support its Litigation Practice Group. This direct hire opportunity is ideal for a highly organized legal professional with strong defense litigation experience and the ability to support multiple attorneys in a fast-paced, deadline-driven law firm environment. This role offers stability, meaningful litigation support work, and the opportunity to be part of a professional legal team with established processes and responsive internal departments. The successful candidate will work closely with attorneys, clients, billing teams, and administrative staff while contributing to high-quality case management and litigation support. Key Responsibilities - Support multiple attorneys with daily litigation, administrative, scheduling, and case management needs.

• Draft, format, proofread, and edit correspondence, pleadings, and legal documents.
• Open new matters, assist with conflict checks, maintain case files, and support records management processes.
• Calculate, calendar, and track litigation deadlines according to Federal and State court rules and procedures.
• Assist with attorney expenses, client billing, narrative entry, invoice edits, reimbursements, and payment processing.
• Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence, mail, emails, phone calls, meetings, hearings, and appointments.

Compensation and Benefits - Salary: $70,000 to $80,000 per year.

• Schedule: Monday through Friday.
• Work arrangement: Fully in office, no remote.
• Location: Miami, FL 33131.

Required Qualifications and Skills - Support multiple litigation attorneys with case administration, scheduling, court filings, billing, and document preparation.

• Manage litigation deadlines, calendars, pleadings, correspondence, and case files in accordance with Federal and State court requirements.
• Coordinate client communications, attorney support, internal requests, expenses, billing narratives, and invoice distribution.
• Maintain organized electronic and paper files while supporting high-volume litigation workflows.
• 5+ years of experience as a defense litigation legal assistant in a law firm is required.
• Strong knowledge of Federal and State court procedures, rules, deadlines, and litigation processes.
• Experience calculating, calendaring, and tracking legal deadlines.
• Strong understanding of litigation documentation, pleadings, correspondence, case files, billing, and administrative processes.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Experience using law firm case management and billing software.
• Ability to support multiple attorneys and manage competing priorities in a high-volume environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, initiative, dependability, punctuality, and follow-through.
• Must be comfortable working fully onsite in Miami, FL.

Preferred Qualifications - Experience with iManage, SmartTime, and Aderant is highly preferred.

• Relevant legal education or equivalent professional experience is preferred.
• Prior experience in a defense litigation practice group supporting complex caseloads is preferred.
