Job Description
The Quality Inspector verifies the quality and dimensional accuracy of metal products prior to shipment, ensuring they meet customer specifications for industrial, aerospace, and defense applications. This role involves conducting detailed physical and visual inspections using precision measuring equipment, documenting inspection results, identifying non-conforming materials, and collaborating closely with production and quality teams to support the delivery of high-quality products.
Responsibilities

• Perform dimensional and visual inspections on metal and manufactured products to verify compliance with customer specifications and internal quality standards.
• Use precision measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, feeler gauges, and pin gauges to check product dimensions and tolerances.
• Review and accurately complete work orders, travelers, and production documentation related to inspection activities.
• Document inspection results clearly and enter data into computer systems to track quality and production information.
• Identify quality issues, non-conforming materials, and discrepancies, and escalate them appropriately to quality and production personnel.
• Conduct quality checks throughout the production process to support continuous adherence to quality assurance and quality control requirements.
• Work closely with production, warehouse, and quality teams to resolve quality concerns and support on-time shipment of conforming products.
• Operate a forklift and pallet jack safely when needed to move materials to and from the inspection area.
• Follow established quality management system procedures and inspection processes as required.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe dedicated quality inspection workstation and comply with all safety protocols and PPE requirements.

Essential Skills

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to perform dimensional inspections on metal or manufactured products.
• Proficiency using precision measuring equipment including calipers and micrometers, as well as dial indicators, feeler gauges, and pin gauges.
• Ability to read, interpret, and accurately complete work orders, travelers, and inspection documentation.
• Strong attention to detail and a consistent commitment to quality standards.
• Basic computer skills for entering inspection data and tracking production information.
• Ability to identify quality issues and escalate discrepancies appropriately.
• Comfort working in production, metals, aerospace, defense, or industrial environments.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to work safely in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
• Ability to safely operate a forklift and pallet jack when needed.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• 2+ years of quality inspection experience.
• erospace, defense, metals, machining, or manufacturing.
• Military experience, particularly in technical or avionics roles.
• Forklift certification or prior forklift operating experience.
• Experience working with quality management systems and formal inspection processes.
• Familiarity with overhead cranes and material handling equipment.
• Experience in quality control, quality assurance, and production environments.
• Comfort working in military, avionics, or aerospace-related settings.

Work Environment
This role is based in a manufacturing and warehouse setting with exposure to moving equipment and machinery. You work at a dedicated quality inspection workstation and spend much of the day standing, walking, and performing physical inspection activities. Personal protective equipment is required, including a hard hat, safety glasses, steel-toe or metatarsal boots, and long pants. Noise levels may be high at times, and you regularly collaborate with Quality Analysts, production teams, and warehouse personnel. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, with occasional overtime and optional additional hours as needed.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Garland, TX.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.
