Substitutes Needed

Overview Glencoe-Silver Lake School District #2859 is in immediate need for on-call, temporary individuals during the school year who are available to work when school district employees are absent. Substitute Paraprofessionals Duties may include assisting teachers in the classroom, working with students under a teacher's supervision. Additional duties may include crossing guard duties before or after school, supervising on the playground during recess, and/or lunch room supervision. Current rate of pay is $18.06 per hour. Preferred Skills of Applicants: Ability to follow both oral and written directions/instructions The District requires applicants, who receive an offer of employment, to submit to a criminal history background check. Ability to communicate effectively through both oral and written means Occasional lifting of 20 to 40 pounds or more may be required. A high school diploma/GED for applicant of non certified positions Substitute Teachers Applicants must have a current Teaching License or Short Call Substitute Teaching License through the Minnesota Department of Education. Current rate of pay is $160 full day / $80 half day. Not licensed but interested in becoming a short-call sub? A license application can be completed through the Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board (PELSB). Apply for a Short Call Substitute Teaching License @ Candidates must hold a minimum of a bachelor\'s degree. Short call substitute licenses are valid for three years.
