Associate Banker

Responsibilities Deliver exceptional service to BMO customers and prospects. Identify customer needs and provide advice and guidance regarding financial solutions that best serve customers. Collaborate within the branch and across partners to deliver a desired customer experience and meet business objectives. Identify referral opportunities to grow the customer’s relationship with BMO beyond personal banking. Welcome and guide customers entering the branch lobby, offering advice on digital and self‑serve options to simplify banking. Act as a lobby leader to conduct client conversations about banking services, recommend alternative channels, and provide personal banking and investment advice. Meet transaction‑based needs with seamless execution. Review customer profiles and engage in needs‑based conversations to identify opportunities and address everyday banking and credit card needs. Contribute to meeting branch business results and enhancing the customer experience. Support operational activities such as inventory management, escalated service requests, application follow‑up, filing, and account opening/closing. Probe to understand personal banking and credit card needs, integrate marketing promotions and programs into conversations, and provide strategic advice. Organize work information to ensure accuracy and completeness. Take initiative to find creative approaches that personalize each customer’s experience. Seek ways to contribute to the ongoing improvement of the overall customer experience. Work at multiple branches or through various channels; schedule may vary week to week. Follow risk and compliance processes and policies to safeguard customers’ assets, maintain privacy, and act in their best interest. Keep current with the financial services marketplace, legal and regulatory environment, and uphold the highest ethical standards. Maintain knowledge of personal banking products, practices, and trends, and integrate them into conversations. Identify and report suspicious patterns of activity related to money laundering. Comply with legal and regulatory requirements for the jurisdiction. Protect the bank’s assets in compliance with all regulatory, legal, and ethical requirements. Complete complex and diverse tasks within given rules and limits. Analyze issues and determine next steps; escalating as required. Accept broader work or accountabilities as assigned. Take measured risks while protecting the bank by applying the Risk Management Framework and adhering to the approved risk appetite. Qualifications 1–2 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. For Canada: registration to sell investment products completed or in progress within 12 months (as appropriate for the jurisdiction). Confidence and experience using social media, tablets, smartphones, online tools, and applications. Experience in consultative customer service or sales roles, with a drive to deliver a personal customer experience. Basic knowledge of specialized sales and business banking solutions to refer to specialists. A passion for helping customers and a commitment to delivering a personal experience.
