Scientist 2 - Assay Product Development

Illumina seeks a Scientist 2 to develop novel sequencing library preparation assays. The role involves designing and executing experiments, analyzing data, and collaborating with product development teams to create robust assays meeting customer specifications.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute experiments of varying complexity using diverse techniques
• Collect data, perform analysis, draw conclusions, and present findings
• Document technical observations in laboratory notebooks and project management systems
• Plan experiments, summarize results, and generate recommendations for follow-up work
• Establish quality standards and procedures to improve data consistency across the team

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with minimum 2 years related experience, or advanced degree
• Proficiency in molecular biology and biochemistry lab techniques
• Ability to design complex experiments with appropriate controls and troubleshoot issues
• Strong knowledge of standard methods used in molecular biology department
• Skill in drawing sound conclusions from complex experimental datasets
• Cross-functional collaboration and communication with diverse stakeholders

Compensation: $74,900-$112,300 base
