Registered Nurse - Medical-Surgical / Oncology

Assignment Details
Contract length: 13-26 weeks accepted

Requirements
- Minimum 2 years inpatient RN experience (Med/Surg experience required)
- Required: BLS
- Preferred: Oncology certification preferred; traveler must be able to administer chemotherapy if needed (facility/manager may train/certify)
- NC or Compact license pending acceptable for submittal

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide medical-surgical care to adult and geriatric patients, including those with oncology histories.
- Administer chemotherapy/biotherapy along with blood products as needed.
- Perform general inpatient nursing duties, including but not limited to, managing colostomy care, central and peripheral line care, and wound VAC management.
- Ensure effective communication utilizing SBAR format; document patient information accurately in the electronic medical record.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for optimal patient care, including pharmacy, respiratory therapy, and social work.

Compliance / Notes
- Orientation: 24 hours (2 shifts)
- Weekend requirement: Every other weekend required
- Attendance at monthly staff meetings is expected
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
- Pre-start modules: Required (approx. 8-10 hours for acute care); must be completed pre-start
