What?
This role is responsible for various process controls in relation to accounting operations as well as maintains financial records and reports, performs account reconciliations and assists with budget and closing processing.

Main aspects of the role include:

• Support month-end close activities, including preparing journal entries and reconciling general ledger accounts.
• Assist with year-end close processes by completing journal entries, preparing account reconciliations, and compiling schedules for the annual financial audit.
• Contribute to the preparation of annual census data, tax reporting schedules, and R&D tax credit documentation.
• Assist with external audits, including the annual financial statement audit and 401(k) plan audit.
• Manage sales tax filing and reconciliation processes, ensuring compliance with Nexus requirements.
• Generate and maintain daily financial activity reports, supporting team members with journal entries and other accounting functions.
• Manage the Visa credit card transaction process, ensuring proper internal controls and accurate monthly reporting.
• Maintain and manage fixed asset and construction-in-progress (CIP) records, ensuring accurate asset tagging, depreciation tracking, and alignment with budget-to-actual reporting.
• Assist in the development and maintenance of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and support KPI tracking and gap analysis initiatives.

You!
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with a minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience in a corporate or manufacturing environment, preferably in junior staff accountant or general staff accountant level. This individual will have a strong understanding of GAAP and advanced accounting principles with experience in supporting audits and financial reporting is required. In addition, this individual should have proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, specifically excel, pivot tables, look up functions, and formula knowledge. This individual will have experience in cost accounting and/or payroll management and experience using business systems to perform accounting responsibilities. This candidate will have strong attention to detail, analytical, and problem solving skills. Lastly, this individual will be able to maintain confidentiality with excellent verbal and written communication.
