Job Summary: The Accounts Receivable Accountant is responsible for managing and reconciling incoming payments, ensuring accuracy in customer billing, maintaining aging reports, and supporting cash application processes. This role plays a key part in ensuring timely collection of receivables, accurate reporting, and strong customer and internal team relationships. This role is a contract to hire position, the role will be evaluated within the first three months of the contract. Key Responsibilities: Prepare and issue customer invoices in accordance with contracts and company policies. Record and reconcile incoming payments, ensuring accurate application to customer accounts. Maintain and monitor accounts receivable aging reports and follow up on past-due accounts. Investigate and resolve discrepancies related to customer payments, credits, or billing errors. Collaborate with sales, operations, and customer service teams to resolve disputes or provide billing support. Assist in month-end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting. Support audit requests and provide documentation as needed. Identify opportunities to improve AR processes and contribute to system and workflow enhancements. Qualifications: Education & Experience Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred. 2-4 years of experience in accounts receivable or general accounting required. Skills Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and reconciliation. Proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks, NetSuite) and Microsoft Excel. Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication and problem-solving skills. Understanding of GAAP and basic accounting principles.
