Land Surveyor

We have an opportunity for a Survey Coordinator in Glen Allen, VA who will be responsible for overseeing and managing land surveying projects with a primary area of focus on utility engineering projects. This role requires a strong background in CAD, construction stakeout, project management & survey regulations in VA & NC. Qualifications 2+ years field experience, 3-5 years office experience in surveying. Full knowledge of Virginia or North Carolina State Land Survey Regulations. Strong proficiency in CAD software. Demonstrated leadership and project management skills. Extensive experience in construction stakeout. Ability to provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced team members. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to analyze drawings, specifications, and make precise decisions. Proficient in personal computer skills and various software applications. Strong working knowledge of Global Positioning System (GPS) practices and procedures. Experience with various GIS software and applications. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a diverse team environment. Valid professional land surveyor license in Virginia and/or North Carolina is preferred. Key Responsibilities Conduct and oversee land surveying projects in compliance with Virginia Land Survey Regulations. Utilize CAD software to create accurate and detailed survey drawings and plans. Lead and manage surveying projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget constraints. Perform construction stakeout and layout for various construction projects. Provide mentorship and guidance to junior surveyors and team members, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment. Analyze drawings, specifications, and other documentation to make precise and informed decisions. Utilize Global Positioning System (GPS) practices and procedures for accurate surveying. Work with various GIS software and applications to collect, analyze, and interpret geographical data. Communicate effectively with clients, project managers, and team members through strong written and verbal communication skills. Maintain detailed and organized project documentation and records. Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations and company policies. Work independently as well as collaboratively within a diverse team environment.
