Robotic Welder

The Robotic Welder is responsible for performing MIG, TIG, and robotic welding on custom projects across framing, agricultural, automotive, and other applications. This role works with a variety of metals including stainless steel, carbon steel, aluminum, and titanium, and relies on accurate blueprint reading, weld symbol interpretation, and the use of precision quality tools to ensure high-quality fabricated components.

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG, TIG, and robotic welding on custom fabricated parts for framing, agricultural, automotive, and other applications.
• Set up, operate, and monitor robotic welding equipment to produce consistent and high-quality welds.
• Work with stainless steel, carbon steel, aluminum, and titanium, selecting appropriate welding techniques and parameters for each material.
• Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and technical drawings to understand project specifications and requirements.
• Use precision measurement and inspection tools such as calipers and micrometers to verify part dimensions and weld quality.
• Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of welded components to ensure they meet quality standards and customer specifications.
• Assist with CNC laser and laser operation related to sheet metal cutting and fabrication as needed.
• Support general sheet metal fabrication activities, including part preparation, fit-up, and finishing.
• Perform routine maintenance and preventive maintenance (PMs) on welding and fabrication equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation.
• Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while working with welding, laser, and fabrication equipment.
• Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to enhance quality, efficiency, and safety in welding and fabrication processes.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and properly handle and store materials and tools.

Essential Skills

• Ability to perform MIG and TIG welding with attention to weld quality and consistency.
• Ability to operate robotic welding equipment or strong willingness to learn robotic welding processes.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and weld symbols.
• Experience using quality tools such as calipers and micrometers for inspection and measurement.
• Basic understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes and inspection practices.
• Strong work ethic with a reliable, proactive approach to daily tasks.
• Strong orientation toward quality, safety, and continuous improvement in all work activities.
• Ability to work overtime when required to meet production needs.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous welding or fabrication experience is a plus, but training is available for the right candidate.
• Experience with robotic welding systems is highly beneficial.
• Familiarity with CNC laser and laser operation for cutting and processing sheet metal.
• Experience in inspection of fabricated parts using precision measurement tools.
• Comfort working with multiple metals, including stainless steel, carbon steel, aluminum, and titanium.
• Willingness to participate in cross-training across different fabrication processes.

Work Environment

This role is based in a fabrication shop environment equipped with new welding and fabrication technologies, including robotic welding systems and CNC laser equipment. The position operates on defined shifts: first shift runs from 4:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. or 5:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., and second shift runs from 2:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. with a shift premium. Overtime is regularly available to support production demands. The work involves standing for extended periods, working around welding and laser equipment, and handling sheet metal and fabricated components in a safety-focused, quality-driven setting.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Germantown, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $28.00/hr.
