Location: CHA Cambridge Hospital Category: Clerical and Administrative Support Department: Emergency Department Job Type: PT 20 Plus HPW Union Union Name: CH Laborers 380 Shift: 3pm-11:30pm Hours/Week: 32.00 Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend Holiday Requirements: Yes per department rotation Sign-on Bonus: $5,000 pro-rated for part-time. Job Details The Emergency Department Unit Secretary assists with the flow of patients in the Emergency Department. Work as a partner with other members of ED staff. Responsible for answering phones, contacting consult services, interacting with patients, families, and other CHA staff; stocking supplies, preparing for computer downtime and other duties as assigned. Able to work in a fast‑paced, high stress area. Needs to be self‑directed and personally responsible for the work that is done. Qualifications/Experience High School graduate. Knowledge and comfort with electronic medical record, customer service experience and ability to work in a busy stressful environment. Medical terminology and Emergency Department experience. Previous Unit Secretary or Administrative Assistant experience strongly preferred.
