Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse to join our team in a fast-paced ER setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in emergency care and the ability to handle complex patient cases effectively.

Shift Details

Shift Type: Evenings
Shift Length: 12 hours
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
Weekend Requirement: 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week rotation

Unit Information

Unit Type: Emergency Room (ER)
Number of Beds/Triage Rooms: 12 beds + 1 triage room
Average Patients Per Day: 88
Nurse-to-Patient Ratios: 1:4 on average, flexible to 1:6 for Urgent Care patients
In-house Security: Yes, 1 guard available 24/7
Common Diagnoses: Mix of emergency and urgent care cases

Responsibilities

Provide high-quality care to patients in a dynamic emergency room environment.
Assist with triage and prioritize patient care based on acuity and urgency.
Manage patient holds and collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure timely transfers.
Perform nursing duties in emergency procedures and respond to critical situations effectively.
Document patient care accurately and maintain compliance with hospital guidelines.

Qualifications

2 years of recent Emergency Room experience required.
Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA), NIHSS, NRP, PALS, TNCC.

Additional Information

Electronic Medical Record System: EPIC
Orientation: On-site training with shadowing and online modules provided.
Holiday Requirement: 1 major holiday in summer and 1 in winter.
Floating Requirements: Potential to float between facilities based on volunteer availability.
Scrub Color/Dress Code: Black scrubs.
