Hills Road York, PA 174068 Hours Per Day 260 Days Per YearJob Summary: This position is responsible for performing cleaning duties to keep school building facility areas clean and orderly. Clean the corridors, library, classrooms, cafeterias, conference rooms, restrooms, offices, walls, windows, etc. This is a night position where more than half of the hours are worked between 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.Primary Duties and Responsibilities:Performs cleaning duties as assigned around school buildings, which include areas listed in job summary above.Daily items include; dusting, emptying trash, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping floors, sanitize fixtures, cleaning chewing gum and stains from floors and carpets.Cleans classrooms; empty trash and pencil sharpeners, cleans chalkboards and chalk trays, white boards, dusts computers, cleans windows and blinds, washes windows and mirrors, etc.Cleaning restrooms and locker rooms, replacing paper and soap products in restrooms, cleaning mirrors, scrub and clean sinks and toilets, sanitize floors, wash walls, etc.Clean cafeterias; empty trash, wiping tables, mopping floors, etc.Respond to calls from office for deliveries and other supply or equipment needed assistance.Clean lockers, chairs and other school equipment and furniture as needed.Pick up litter around school grounds.Perform duties such as snow removal, cleaning sidewalks, washing windows, shades and drapes, etc.May be required to secure building, lock/unlock doors or gates, may be required to lift, move or rearrange furniture, desks, tables, etc.Change light bulbs, filters, and perform other minor maintenance duties as required and report other maintenance malfunctions to administration or head custodian.May assist in the completion of the workload in the absence of other custodians.May perform duties in the summer and project cleaning of buildings.May clean classrooms as assigned or needed.Perform other duties as assigned.Qualifications:Must have a high school diploma or equivalentMust have and maintain a current driver's licenseMust have 1 to 3 years of custodial work experience, which shall include a variety of work set forth above in "primary duties and responsibilities" sectionMust have (or willing to obtain) current PA Criminal, PA Child Abuse and FBI Criminal History Background ChecksHourly Rate: $17.17-$21.24 *Step placement shall be based on years of service recognized by employer.
