Position: FT - Life Skills Counselor - $21.50hr - $24hr

Essential Functions of the Life Skills Counselor:

Facilitate 748 hours (17 hours a week x 44 weeks) of 1:1 instruction with their assigned caseload working on youth established goals in the Transition plan at the level of service determined by the Service level needs assessment.
Ensure the timely & accurate completion of all required paperwork (includes documentation requirements) per the AAI Paperwork Guidelines document and the approved program description.
Ensure timely updates to all members of the client's team per the guidelines listed in the approved program description.
Represent Valley Youth House in a professional manner at all Court hearings, professional meetings and public events.
Minimum Qualifications of the Life Skills Counselor:
An associate's degree or equivalent of 60-90 college credits in Social Work or related field. If the degree is in an unrelated field then the candidate must have at least 1 year of experience in the social services field.
One or more years experience working with youth and young adults or providing case management services.
A valid driver's license, a motor vehicle report that meets agency requirements and reliable transportation that can safely transport clients if needed.
Ability to work a hybrid schedule that includes evenings.
Ability to complete the pre-employment physical and drug test requirements.
Physical Requirements of the Life Skills Counselor:
Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing. X Occasionally
