Senior Scientist, Proteins, Analytical Development (1 of 2)

Johnson & Johnson

Senior Scientist position within the Proteins Analytical Development group at Johnson & Johnson, focused on developing and validating separation assays for protein biotherapeutics. The role spans method development through commercial manufacturing, supporting monoclonal antibodies, multi-specific antibodies, and antibody-drug conjugates.

Responsibilities

Develop, validate, and transfer biochemical separation assays for biopharmaceutical characterization
Lead analytical projects partnering with process development and quality control scientists
Serve as technical expert during method development, investigations, and regulatory inspections
Write and approve methods, protocols, technical reports, and relevant regulatory filing sections
Implement innovative analytical technologies and drive continuous improvement initiatives

Requirements

Ph.D. with 2+ years relevant experience, or Master's with 5+ years, or Bachelor's with 12+ years
Strong biochemistry background with expertise in protein isolation and separation techniques
Hands-on experience with capillary electrophoresis, HPLC, and chromatography methods
Knowledge of method robustness, design of experiments, and assay validation parameters
Excellent scientific writing, communication, and presentation skills
Leadership and cross-functional collaboration abilities in dynamic environments
Large molecule analytical development experience with separation methods preferred
