Millwright

FabricatorThis person will be responsible for set-up, lay-out, and tack up of various detailed, precision frame weldments and brackets. He/she must have the ability to tack up structures to tight tolerances and to weld out precision frames to exact tolerances. He/she must also perform the final required cosmetic finish with angle grinders and sanders. The fabricator may use ten/thirty ton cranes in a safe manner and "rigging" knowledge is necessary. He/she will read complicated prints and "spec. weld symbols" in conjunction with required job details. The fabricator will primarily work with mild steel, aluminum, and stainless steel.Responsibilities include:Responsible for set-up, lay-out, and tack up of various precision frame weldments and bracketsSquaring up, weld, and maintain various geometries of componentsReading various weld form symbols on blueprints and understand size of fillet formsWelding both vertical and horizontal plane geometryMoving parts and heavy frames on and off a work table and throughout the facilityUnderstanding various edge preps before weldingGood understanding of set-up techniquesMeeting agreed upon goals in a timely mannerAssuring jobs are performed in proper sequence and at the appropriate timeAssuring the end product is produced correctly and according to assembly blueprintsAdditional items as assigned by managerCompetency or position requirements:Demonstrated ability to set up, lay-out, and tack up various detailed frame weldments and bracketsAbility to read assembly blueprints, follow instructions, and achieve Blueprint CertificationDemonstrated ability to fabricate mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminumMust own tools for daily tasksDemonstrated attention to detail and precision in workAbility to break down tasks to complete in a step-by-step processAbility to show creativity in solving problemsSelf-motivated; able to work with little supervisionCustomer-focused with quality and end result in mindMust be able to communicate effectively and work effectively as part of a team, specifically with the Engineering OrganizationDetail-orientedTime management skillsAll Armor employees are also expected to demonstrate Armor's core values of being:Customer-FocusedPassionate about WorkSolution-OrientedDriven by IntegrityEducation and/or experience:High School Diploma or GED5+ years fabrication experience in the metal manufacturing industry preferredMust meet criteria of Welder IPrincipal contacts inside/outside the company:This position interacts with organizational team members and supervisors.Equipment used:Welding machines, including Tig (AC and DC) and Mig Welder, Stick Welder, operate 4.5 inch and 7 inch angle grinder, plasma cutter, oxy-act cutting torch, and various clamps and fixturesWorking and physical conditions:Lifting up to 50lbs regularly and 75lbs occasionally, pushing, pulling, standing for long periods of time, manual dexterity and visual acuity
