It is essential for the SCC to work well individually and in a team environment; effectively solicit carriers to haul shipments, establish carrier & customer relationships, and solicit customers for transportation opportunities. This position also plays a critical role in providing quality service to customers, encouraging team morale and performance, while maintaining a positive culture within the branch. The Supply Chain Coordinator will be responsible for the day-to-day operational development and execution of the Intermodal and Truckload logistics portion of the Watco Supply Chain Services portfolio. This position has broad responsibilities including operational execution, sales, customer development, RFP (Request for Pricing form - Proposal), RFI (Requestion for Information), customer spot pricing, carrier price negotiation, carrier development, and other duties as assigned to support branch growth.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesBroker transportation shipments and securing carrier capacityTrace & trace customer shipments via web-based portalsProvide customer support to meet their needs and address issuesConduct spot pricing, rate negotiations to meet margin requirements, and ensure maximum profitability, and handle related concernsMeet all customer compliance requirements including but not limited to level of service, lane compliance, and communication timeframeBook loads with Registry Monitoring Insurance Service carrier complianceOther duties as assignedQualificationsWork is performed primarily in a standard office environment with extensive team member and supplier contact with frequent interruptions. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those a team member encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.Transportation or supply chain related experience preferredApply knowledge of organization, communication, conflict resolution, and time management skillsUse basic computer skills - Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, 10 Key, and Data EntryAbility to work with others and be a positive influence on co-workersUtilize professional phone and email communication skillsEffective customer service skills and the ability to service both internal and external customersAbility to provide oral and written reports, business correspondence, and effective presentation of information to customers, team members, and managersAbility to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule formRegistry Monitoring Insurance Services (RMIS) skills recommendedTransportation Management System (TMS) skills recommendedEducationMust be 18 years of age or older with High School or GED equivalent.
