General Fluidics is a clinical diagnostics company developing a novel point-of-care platform capable of simultaneously measuring clinical chemistry, hematology, and immunoassays from human and animal blood samples ( We are seeking a highly motivated and broadly skilled Senior Research Associate to support development of our growing diagnostic assay menu across veterinary medicine and the in vitro diagnostics (IVD) market. This individual will play a hands‑on role in the development, optimization, and validation of assays powering our next‑generation diagnostic platform. This is an opportunity to contribute directly to innovative diagnostic technology within a highly collaborative and fast‑moving biotech environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Design, develop, and validate clinical chemistry, hematology, and immunoassays using human and animal blood samples on our point‑of‑care platform. Independently design and execute laboratory experiments to optimize assay and instrument performance in collaboration with engineering and cross‑functional teams. Analyze assay and instrument performance data to support analytical validation, regulatory clearance, and commercial launch activities. Author experimental protocols, standard operating procedures (SOPs), technical reports, and validation documentation. Support laboratory quality assurance activities including controls, calibration, and proficiency testing. Maintain safe laboratory practices in compliance with applicable health, safety, and environmental regulations. Work safely with both human and veterinary specimens in accordance with laboratory safety standards and procedures. Qualifications and Experience BS, MS, or PhD in biotechnology, biology, chemistry, biomedical engineering, clinical laboratory science, or a related scientific discipline. 3–5+ years of experience in industrial, hospital, veterinary, or academic laboratory environments. Experience independently designing and executing laboratory experiments and analyzing scientific data. Experience supporting assay development, analytical validation, or clinical diagnostic product development preferred. Experience working at the intersection of engineering, instrumentation, automation, and wet chemistry strongly preferred. Hands‑on experience with clinical instrumentation such as flow cytometry, hematology systems, clinical chemistry analyzers, and/or immunoassay platforms. Familiarity with regulated laboratory environments and quality systems (e.g., BSL‑2, GLP, CLIA, CAP) highly preferred. Veterinary diagnostics experience is a plus. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly communicate scientific concepts, data interpretation, and technical findings. Ability to operate with a high degree of technical competence, organization, and attention to detail in a fast‑paced startup environment. Experience with standard laboratory techniques including pipetting, chemistry formulations, biosafety cabinets, quality control procedures, and instrument calibration. Strong desire to learn, innovate, and contribute to the development of next‑generation diagnostic technologies.
