Paralegal Location: US-GA-Atlanta Job ID: 2026-0040 # Positions: 1 Experience (Years): 2 Category: Contract Administration & Enforcement/Representation - Paralegal Paralegal responsibilities and duties include providing contractual and legal research support, assisting in analysis and resolution of contractual disputes, working closely with MEC officers, representatives, and committee volunteers, gathering information and evidence for potential contract issues, supporting resolution strategies, interacting with pilot members to assess dispute existence under the Pilot Working Agreement (PWA), informally resolving disputes, handling contractual appeals, processing cases to the System Board of Adjustment, preparing cases and post-hearing briefs, supporting and assisting in the preparation and processing of FAA enforcement cases at all stages, including appeals. Individual responsibility and administrative ability are required to ensure tasks are completed as assigned and deadlines are met. Excellent note‑taking skills in a high‑volume environment and ability to travel frequently (20–40%) and for prolonged periods are required. Travel: 20‑40%; sporadically may exceed 50%. Qualifications: High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree in relevant area or equivalent combination of education and practical experience preferred. Two (2) years of paralegal experience required; five (5) or more years strongly preferred. Paralegal Certificate strongly preferred. Ability to take fast accurate notes and/or shorthand in a high‑volume setting required. Understanding of collective bargaining agreements, corporate practices, and applicable regulations preferred; strong interest in pilot contracts and Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) preferred. Knowledge of pilot scheduling, work rules, and benefits issues (vacation, sick leave, etc.) strongly preferred. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written) for effective interaction with internal staff, external contacts, and pilots. Excellent organizational skills. Able to work independently and proactively identify and respond to issues and problems. Software: Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required; SharePoint preferred. Physical Demands: Constantly operates a computer/smartphone/tablet. Maintains a stationary position, moves around the office and local metropolitan area, determines and exchanges accurate information. Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, and move around the office and travel locally and nationally. Includes occasional bending, stooping, squatting, and pushing/pulling or moving objects. Occasionally required to move, raise, reach, and/or retrieve binders, books, boxes, and files up to 10 lbs; while traveling, may handle luggage up to 50 lbs.
