Military fitness is about more than passing a test. Service Members must develop the strength, endurance, movement quality, and durability required to perform demanding military tasks while reducing preventable injuries and maintaining readiness throughout their careers.

LMR Technical Group is seeking an  Exercise Specialist/Fitness Coach to support the New Hampshire National Guard's comprehensive physical-readiness program.

You will work directly with Service Members who need assistance improving Army Combat Fitness Test or Air Force Fitness Assessment performance, individuals returning to fitness following injury or medical restriction, and military members and families seeking to improve their overall health and fitness.

Job Description

Develop and deliver evidence-based physical readiness, strength and conditioning, remedial fitness, reconditioning, and wellness programs supporting New Hampshire National Guard Service Members and eligible family members.

The Exercise Specialist will support the principles of the Army's Holistic Health and Fitness program and help Service Members meet applicable physical fitness and body-composition standards.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Conduct intake and physical-readiness assessments for Service Members referred following an unsuccessful Army Combat Fitness Test, Air Force Fitness Assessment, or other applicable military fitness assessment.
• Develop individualized written fitness "Get-Well" plans addressing identified performance deficiencies.
• Provide continuous coaching and track Service Member progress toward successful completion of applicable military fitness standards.
• Develop voluntary wellness programs for Service Members and eligible family members addressing cardiovascular fitness, strength, mobility, lifestyle improvement, and general health.
• Prepare Service Members for Army Combat Fitness Test events using evidence-based strength and conditioning methodologies.
• Apply working knowledge of Army FM 7-22, Holistic Health and Fitness.
• Understand and appropriately support Army Body Composition Program requirements under AR 600-9.
• Provide safe physical reconditioning to Service Members on medical profiles when medically authorized.
• Review applicable medical profiles and medical clearance before initiating reconditioning activities and ensure all training remains within limitations prescribed by credentialed medical providers.
• Coordinate with healthcare professionals and other readiness team members when appropriate.
• Develop weekly educational content covering subjects such as fitness programming, ACFT preparation, injury prevention, functional fitness, and physical readiness.
• Partner with the Registered Dietitian to provide virtual wellness coaching and integrated physical and nutritional readiness programming.
• Support virtual and in-person fitness programming, outreach activities, unit events, and drill weekends.
• Maintain required client records and contribute data supporting readiness and program-performance reporting.
• Maintain a safe training environment and demonstrate proper exercise techniques.
• Other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Current  National Strength and Conditioning Association Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS)certification  or Current  NSCA Tactical Strength and Conditioning Facilitator (TSAC-F)certification.
• Current American Heart Association First Aid and CPR certification.
• Demonstrated knowledge of tactical strength and conditioning and military physical-readiness principles.
• Working knowledge of  Army FM 7-22, Holistic Health and Fitness , including preparation for Army Combat Fitness Test events.
• Working knowledge of  AR 600-9, Army Body Composition Program , including height, weight, body-fat, and circumference-based assessment requirements.
• Ability to develop individualized evidence-based strength, conditioning, and fitness programs.
• Ability to safely demonstrate prescribed exercises and coach proper movement and technique.
• Ability to successfully complete required background screening and meet DoD installation and information-system access requirements.
• Ability to travel to NHNG locations and support scheduled drill weekends and unit activities as required.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship now or in the future.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with tactical athletes, military personnel, law enforcement, firefighters, collegiate athletes, or comparable high-performance populations.
• Experience providing return-to-performance or medically coordinated physical reconditioning.
• Previous experience supporting H2F or another military human-performance program.
