Locums - Potsdam, New York Gastroenterology Opportunity

Clinical Role Provide inpatient and outpatient gastroenterology coverage with procedural responsibilities, including endoscopies and colonoscopies. This role offers full 24-hour call coverage in a collaborative hospital and office environment.

Patient Population: Adult

Patient Ratios: 1:15-20

Responsibilities Include:

• Assessing and treating adults with a variety of gastroenterological conditions
• Performing upper and lower endoscopies (required)
• Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests including X-rays, MRIs, CT scans, and ultrasounds
• Collaborating with anesthesia and support staff during procedures
• Managing inpatient and outpatient care plans
• Contributing to administrative and business decisions within the practice
• Referring patients for surgical intervention when necessary

Support Staff:

• NP: 1
• LPN: 1
• Anesthesia for procedures

Procedures:

• Upper endoscopy - required
• Colonoscopy - required
• Other diagnostic and therapeutic GI procedures as indicated

Patient Acuity: Adults acutely ill with diverse gastrointestinal issues

Facility Details:

• Hospital and outpatient procedural environment
• Adult patient population

Technology:

• EMR: Epic
• Automated Medication Dispensing System: Pixys

• Board Certified in Gastroenterology - required
• Upper and lower endoscopy experience - required
• Active New York state license - required
• AHA BLS and ACLS - required
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in the last 2 years - required

• Multidisciplinary gastroenterology team
• Support from NP, LPN, and anesthesia staff
• Collaborative environment with shared decision-making
