Registered Nurse (RN) - PACU

Registered Nurse – Post-Anesthesia Care Unit

Variable shifts with hours worked per two-week period. Shifts may vary between 8, 10, and 12 hours and can include Days, Evenings, Nights, and Weekends/Holidays. No guarantee of hours or shift preference. On-call shifts required 0-3 times per month (8-hour night and 24-hour weekends/holidays). Holiday coverage is required.

Assignment Details

Position requires an active State of licensure upon acceptance of offer. Flu vaccination proof or approved exception will be required before the start date.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a critical care RN (i.e., ER & ICU) may replace direct PACU experience.
• Valid BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association.
• A valid professional license within the state of practice.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification is recommended and may be required for specific positions.
• Preferred certifications include NIHSS and TNCC for specific roles.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients in pre-op, Phase I, and Phase II recovery.
• Monitor patients post-surgery, assessing incision sites and tracking vital indicators for stability and complications.
• Demonstrate critical thinking skills in patient assessments and care planning.
• Utilize advanced knowledge of anesthesiology in patient care.
