Job Description
The Shipping and Receiving Associate handles all incoming and outgoing materials, maintains accurate inventory records, and ensures shipments are processed efficiently to support warehouse and production operations. This role plays a key part in keeping materials flowing smoothly, upholding quality and safety standards, and supporting a fast-paced logistics environment.
Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials against packing slips and purchase orders to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Record and track all incoming and outgoing shipments in inventory systems to maintain up-to-date and accurate records.
• Pick, pack, and prepare customer and internal orders for shipment, ensuring correct items, quantities, and proper labeling.
• Load and unload trucks using a forklift, pallet jack, or manual handling as needed, following safe material handling practices.
• Maintain accurate inventory counts through regular cycle counts and audits, and promptly report discrepancies or shortages.
• Stage materials and organize warehouse space to support efficient workflow and easy access to products and supplies.
• Prepare shipping documentation, including bills of lading, labels, manifests, and other required paperwork.
• Store materials in designated locations and follow FIFO and established inventory procedures to support proper stock rotation.
• Ensure all shipments meet company quality and safety standards before leaving the facility.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by following housekeeping standards and reporting hazards.
• Follow all OSHA and company safety regulations and procedures while performing daily tasks.
• Collaborate with team members and other departments to resolve logistics issues and support continuous improvement in shipping and receiving processes.

Essential Skills

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1-3+ years of experience in warehouse, shipping and receiving, or material handling roles preferred.
• Experience with inventory systems or ERP platforms such as SAP or Oracle is a plus.
• Forklift experience or certification preferred.
• Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Excel, scanners, and shipping software.
• Ability to read and interpret work orders, packing lists, and shipping documents.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling inventory and documentation.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
• Good communication and teamwork skills to coordinate with colleagues and other departments.
• Problem-solving and organizational abilities to manage multiple tasks and resolve issues.
• Self-motivation and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Hands-on experience with inventory control, cycle counts, and logistics processes.
• Proficiency in material handling, including shipping, receiving, and inventory management.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience using ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle for inventory and shipping transactions.
• Prior forklift operation experience or formal forklift certification.
• in logistics, inventory control, and shipping and receiving operations.
• Comfort using handheld scanners and other warehouse technology.
• Experience performing cycle counts and maintaining inventory accuracy.
• Strong organizational habits that support efficient warehouse layout and material flow.

Work Environment
This role is based in a clean, climate-controlled, corporate office-adjacent facility that supports both warehouse and administrative operations. You will work with inventory systems, ERP platforms, handheld scanners, and standard shipping and receiving equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and material handling tools. The environment emphasizes safety, organization, and professionalism, with regular office team lunches each month catered in by leadership to encourage collaboration and a sense of community.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Atlanta, GA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
