The Product Owner, Manager is responsible for collaborating with business, customer, and technical stakeholders while owning and managing the product backlog for a specific product or feature set. They define and prioritize product outcomes, ensuring delivery aligns business, customer, and stakeholder needs while partnering with Scrum Masters and technical teams to support successful execution. They understand the customer needs and translate customer and stakeholder objectives into defined epics, features, and user stories. They steward product roadmaps and backlogs, partner with architects and technical teams to ensure alignment with enterprise standards and integrations requirements and assess delivered outcomes against customer and business needs. They contribute to the vision and roadmap on behalf of their product, represent the voice of the customer whether internal or external, and assess team outputs to ensure adequacy against requirements.

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

• Evaluates opportunities through a customer, business and enterprise lens, helping determine not only what should be built, but whether their product is the most appropriate solution to address the need.
• Owns and prioritizes the product backlog, ensuring alignment to business objectives, customer needs, and regulatory or compliance constraints.
• Acts as the voice of the customer, translating stakeholder input, market insights, and user feedback into clear, actionable user stories and backlog items.
• Represents business and customer needs with clarity and depth, bridging strategic goals with team-level delivery through well-defined, outcome-driven priorities.
• Builds alignment across business, product, and technology stakeholders by influencing without authority, facilitating effective tradeoff discussions, and communicating priorities, risks, and rationale clearly.
• Communicates and makes decisions with confidence and clarity, ensuring that value expectations and scope changes are transparent and agreed upon throughout delivery cycles.
• Collaborates with the Scrum Masters, Team-of-Teams Leads, architects, and business stakeholders to align on priorities, manage visibility into delivery risks and outcomes.
• Continuously assesses team outputs against requirements, ensuring delivered features meet intended outcomes, acceptance criteria, and customer satisfaction goals.
• Monitors product health and viability, balancing short-term delivery pressures with long-term vision, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability of the product roadmap.
  Scope: Manages a single product or feature set within a team.
  Autonomy: Operates under guidance from senior roles or product leadership.
  Influence: Limited to team-level decisions; collaborates with stakeholders but doesn’t drive strategy.
  Complexity: Focuses on execution—writing user stories, managing backlog, and ensuring sprint delivery.

Required Education and/or Certifications

• Bachelor's Degree.

Required Work Experience

• 2-5+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, Digital Product Manager, or similar role supporting customer-facing digital products.
• Experience defining and prioritizing digital experiences that balance customer needs, business objectives, and technical constraints.
• Experience translating customer and stakeholder needs into roadmaps, epics, features, and user stories.
• Experience working with Agile delivery teams to deliver web-based, portal, self-service, or digital experience solutions.
• Experience collaborating with business, technology, UX, and analytics partners to improve customer or user experiences.

Strongly Preferred

• Experience with customer portals, member portals, employee portals, self-service platforms, or authenticated digital experiences.
• Experience leveraging customer insights, analytics, usability feedback, or user research to drive product decisions.
• Experience integrating data and functionality from multiple systems into a unified digital experience.
• Experience with dashboarding, reporting, search, personalization, recommendations, and/or digital engagement capabilities.
• Experience working within employee benefits, insurance, healthcare, or financial services.

This selected candidate will be expected to work hybrid in Indianapolis, IN. The candidate will also be expected to physically return to the office in CA, IN or ME as business needs dictate or for team building and collaboration.
