About the Maintenance Technician:

• Perform machinery and equipment examinations to troubleshoot for defects/visual wear in operation.
• Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts. Removes all defective parts and installs all new parts in compliance with set company standards.
• Perform electrical and motor testing; fuse continuity checks; voltage/resistance/current relationships.
• Performs all necessary bench work, functional testing of rebuilt machines and modified machines by checking performance and making necessary or desirable adjustments and changes.
• As directed by the Maintenance Supervisor, participates in Hazardous Material, Hazardous Waste handling and management efforts, labeling waste storage containers, and dispensing chemicals to employees.
• Report major machine or possible production problems to the Maintenance Supervisor and/or lead and/or department manager.
• Answers all service calls and makes necessary repairs without supervision.
• Makes sound judgment calls in emergency situations.
• Follows Managers/Supervisor/Leads instructions regarding production priorities schedule.
• Maintain appropriate down-time and changeover log sheets
• Performs preventative maintenance as per area assigned.
• Responsible for the manufacture of safe, legal, and quality product.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Attends all company safety meetings and trainings.

We are looking for:

• High school diploma GED required, technical school a plus; 3 to 6 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be able to interpret and apply measurement data from mechanical drawings, repair and fabricate metal parts by operating mechanical equipment, and assemble parts into sub assemblies or complete units as required.
• Experience in the maintenance and troubleshooting of production equipment required
• Required to stand and walk on concrete floors while infrequently lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.
• Frequent kneeling, twisting of the back, and climbing, along with frequent use of both hands, is also required.
• Reaching at, above and below shoulder level is continuous.
• The employee must possess efficient means of communicating with others.
• Color and close vision are essential when repairing machinery.
• Manual dexterity.
• Ability to pay attention to details
• Trained in basic HACCP and pre-requisite programs relevant to area of responsibilities, chemical handling, code of safe practices, etc.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
