Make an impact this school year by supporting high school students as a Special Education teacher in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) classrooms. Work onsite within a collaborative educational environment, partnering with other dedicated educators and professionals to help every student thrive. This contract opportunity runs from August 24, 2026, through June 10, 2027, offering a consistent schedule of 37.5 hours per week. Multiple positions are available, providing the chance for you and your colleagues to bring your expertise to a dynamic setting focused on student growth and individualized success.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid and active Michigan Special Education Teaching License (must be verified prior to start)
- Experience working within high school ASD classrooms preferred
- Strong classroom management skills and ability to adapt teaching strategies to individual student needs
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for collaboration with staff and families
- Energetic, positive attitude with a commitment to fostering student development
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Deliver differentiated instruction tailored to the diverse needs of students with autism spectrum disorder
- Foster a supportive, structured classroom environment promoting academic and social growth
- Collaborate closely with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and families
- Monitor student progress, update records, and communicate effectively with the multidisciplinary team
