Step into a rewarding contract opportunity making a difference in the lives of high school students in specialized classrooms. We are currently seeking passionate Special Education Teachers for onsite roles supporting Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) programs throughout the academic year. This assignment runs from late August through mid-June, offering stability and an engaging environment to utilize your skills.
Leverage your experience and compassion as part of a dedicated team committed to meeting the diverse needs of students in a positive, collaborative atmosphere. You’ll support students in high school ASD classrooms while working closely with fellow educators and staff.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Michigan Special Education Teaching License (active at the time of application; candidates will be asked to verify license status)
- Experience working with high school students in ASD or similar special education settings preferred
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to adapt instructional methods and materials to meet individual student goals
- Collaborative spirit when working with multidisciplinary teams
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and adapt Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for assigned students
- Create inclusive, structured classroom environments that promote student learning and engagement
- Modify curriculum, deliver differentiated instruction, and monitor student progress
- Collaborate with related service providers, general education staff, and families
- Maintain accurate records, documentation, and compliance with applicable regulations
- Foster positive relationships and advocate for each student’s unique needs
