Ideal candidates are self-starters with ownership mentality, capable of working independently, and possess the education, experience, and skills necessary for the role. Our restaurant is located at 638 N 13th St. We value motivated, engaged, and proactive individuals. Job Summary: The Kitchen Manager is responsible for all kitchen functions, including food purchasing, preparation, quality standards, sanitation, cleanliness, and staff training in cooking methods, presentation, portion control, and sanitation. Activities & Responsibilities: Ensure consistent food preparation and service according to recipes, standards, and portioning. Oversee orientation and training of new kitchen staff regarding company policies and procedures. Maintain cleanliness and proper functioning of all kitchen equipment through inspections and preventative maintenance. Manage food orders, receiving, and storage in accordance with policies. Control food costs through proper requisitions, storage, recipes, and waste management. Train staff on safe operation of kitchen equipment and sanitation practices. Maintain cleaning schedules for all kitchen areas and equipment. Monitor food storage temperatures and safety protocols. Provide safety training including first aid, CPR, and handling hazardous materials. Ensure attention to detail and consistent cooking quality. Create daily specials and coordinate with FOH staff. Display strong culinary techniques and presentation skills. Maintain clean work habits and professional appearance. Minimum Qualifications: At least 5 years of diverse kitchen experience, including roles such as food prep, line cook, fry cook, and expediter. Minimum of 2 years in a similar managerial capacity. Excellent communication skills with staff and guests. Physical ability to reach, bend, lift up to 50 pounds, and work standing for up to 9 hours. #J-18808-Ljbffr Back A Yard Caribbean American Grill
