Experienced C-17 Avionics/Development Project Manager

Overview We are seeking an Experienced C-17 Avionics/Development Project Manager to join the C-17 Development Hardware team at the Long Beach, CA facility. This role supports Boeing’s C-17 Program, the world’s premier military airlift capability. Responsibilities include technical, schedule and financial baselines management of Development and Sustainment projects centered around C-17 Avionics. The position covers the entire product lifecycle: business capture/award, baseline establishment, requirement development, supplier subcontracting, systems integration, flight test, field support and customer interactions. The manager will integrate and coordinate hardware and software development tasks across internal groups and suppliers, driving schedules forward while minimizing engineering impact, and ensuring technical performance, quality, cost and on-time delivery. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will work onsite at the Long Beach, CA facility. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience) 7+ years of experience in Project Management of USG, Aerospace and/or DoD/DoW projects. History of managing projects through all phases of hardware and software development, test and qualification. Knowledge of subsystem design, requirement allocation and technical supplier management. Critical analysis and problem-solving skills across systems, hardware and software architecture. Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience) 10+ years of experience in Project Management of USG, Aerospace and/or DoD/DoW projects. Military aircraft program experience. Experience working within a matrixed reporting organization. Familiarity with PMBOK concepts and their practical applications. Knowledge of Agile development methodologies. Typical Education/Experience Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (including manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g., Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience. Pay & Benefits Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. Summary pay range – Experienced: 146,200 – 197,800 ; Consultant: 176,800 – 239,200 . Competitive base pay and variable compensation opportunities are provided.
