Night Shift: 3x12 hours

This is a 13-week contract position.

The Respiratory Therapist provides quality patient care, delivering intensive respiratory care and patient transport within the facility as medically prescribed and with minimal supervision. This position evaluates patients and recommends treatment plans while explaining the purpose and procedures of treatments, tests, and equipment to patients, providing necessary education upon discharge.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct physician-prescribed treatments and operate ventilatory equipment, both invasive and non-invasive.
• Administer prescribed medications, humidification, ventilation, and oxygenation.
• Perform chest physiotherapy to promote secretion clearance.
• Conduct suctioning of patients through various methods.
• Perform oximetry and capnography monitoring according to policy.
• Review patients' chest x-rays and perform 12-Lead EKG and basic arrhythmia recognition.
• Assist with procedures related to respiratory care, including bronchoscopy and chest tube placement.
• Conduct tracheostomy care and arterial punctures as per protocol.
• Maintain and monitor mechanical ventilation on various equipment.
• Record treatments and patient responses accurately in respiratory care records and charts.
• Communicate with attending and pulmonary physicians regarding therapy efficiency.
• Ensure accurate respiratory therapy charging and data entry.

Candidate must possess relevant licensure and certifications in respiratory therapy.
