Scheduler Position

Momentum Spine and Joint is looking for a scheduler to join our team! The bilingual scheduler is responsible for successfully organizing and scheduling procedures accordingly and promptly based on the scheduler's evaluation and understanding of the patients' needs.

Essential functions include:

• Communicating with all appropriate parties regarding patient and procedure
• Scheduling and/or rescheduling patient follow-ups and procedures
• Following up on all canceled or no-show patients
• Coordinating transportation for our procedure patients, if needed
• Ensuring completeness and accuracy of patients' forms, scans and files into patient docs on eCW
• Following up and ensuring all documentation is obtained, updating patients' information into the database
• Verifying if all authorizations have been obtained prior to scheduling procedures
• Informing and providing patients with necessary information and instructions prior to procedure date
• Checking out patients, moving patients through appointments as scheduled
• Updating daily log for all patients' office visits and confirmed procedures
• Submitting information to the verification department for pre-authorization
• Sending prescriptions to pharmacy via fax or email
• Answering telephone and dealing with inquiries
• Monitoring H&P, orders, procedure document, and prescriptions, if applicable under RX folder
• Managing filing and record keeping activities
• Reporting statistics as required
• Protecting patient and family privacy rights and maintaining confidentiality of patient records in accordance with policy, procedure, and HIPAA requirements
• Traveling as necessary to other facilities
• Performing other duties as assigned

Knowledge, skills, and abilities include:

• Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, and other office procedures and terminology
• Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and eCW
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work independently by guiding oneself with little or no supervision and depending on oneself to get things done
• Exceptional customer service and phone etiquette
• Ability to communicate professionally with patients
• Energetic with a desire to learn and develop new skills
• Able to travel between various locations if needed
• Flexible scheduling may be required to meet company needs

Education and experience:

• High school diploma or GED
• One (1) year of experience in a medical office scheduling setting

Compensation to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Employment for this position is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check and drug screening.
