Associate Sourcing Manager Client: Major Medical Device Client Position: Associate Sourcing Manager Duration: 3+ Months Contract Location: Cary, IL 60013 Pay Rate: $30.00-$36.80/ Hr on W2 Description Summary Support the development and implementation of strategic sourcing activities for assigned commodities. Obtain the best quality, service, and value for products and services through effective bidding, negotiation, and supplier management. The Associate Commodity Manager will support the development and execution of strategies and projects related to cost reduction initiatives, new product development, supply base optimization and rationalization, quality improvement, risk assessment, and contract negotiation. Key Responsibilities Support the development and implementation of strategies and goals for assigned commodities in alignment with overall business objectives. Support the development and implementation of processes to build a best-in-class strategic sourcing organization. Develop and lead cross-functional teams through the creation of strategic commodity plans, consolidation strategies, and spend/supply assessments while considering total product lifecycle requirements. Participate in sourcing analysis and supplier selection processes. Perform cost analyses and make-versus-buy evaluations as required. Participate in the development of contract strategies. Negotiate, establish, monitor, and enforce supplier contracts and agreements. Build and maintain strong partnerships with key suppliers and internal stakeholders across multiple functions. Identify supply base risks and develop and implement mitigation plans. Gather and communicate market condition information and technology trends related to commodities and suppliers. Utilize market insights to identify and implement cost-control measures and business strategy improvements. Ensure cost standards are established and maintained for annual operating budgets. Collaborate across functions and business units to develop supplier scorecards and business review processes. Organize and lead supplier scorecard review meetings and business reviews. Skills & Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Management, Business, Finance, Engineering, or a related field. Master’s Degree preferred. Professional certifications through APICS, ISM, and/or CSCMP preferred. 6+ years of Supply Management experience with a focus on strategic sourcing and supplier development. Knowledge of supplier contract strategy, negotiations, contractual terms, and contract administration. Knowledge of supplier processes and supply chain risk factors, including experience assessing and mitigating supply base risks. Ability to negotiate effectively to secure the best pricing and commercial terms for products, materials, and services. Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to effectively engage suppliers, team members, leadership, and executive management. Ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders across multiple functions and organizational levels. Knowledge of continuous improvement and cost reduction methodologies. Experience with supplier performance metrics, measurement methodologies, and supporting systems. Strong leadership, negotiation, influencing, communication, presentation, project management, troubleshooting, problem-solving, analytical, strategic thinking, and team-building skills. Strong judgment with the ability to make and communicate timely, sound decisions. International sourcing and supplier management experience preferred. Experience operating within a highly regulated industry preferred. Experience in sourcing and supplier management within regulated manufacturing environments preferred. Working knowledge of ISO 13485 standards and requirements preferred. Demonstrated proficiency in ISO 13485 standards preferred. Supplier audit experience involving quality system standards such as FDA QSR, ISO 13485, and ISO 9001 preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and other standard business applications.
